This is our “full day” option. Fishing in the surf is hard work and 4-5 hours is the sweet spot of being both enjoyable and covering enough water through a tide. We will walk you through casting technique, gear, rigging, and all of the variables we take into consideration to optimize our chances of success in the dynamic environment of the surf zone.

This is a great option for before/after work if you’re looking to sneak in some fishing midweek. You tell us the day and we’ll take you to a local fishing hole that offers the right conditions and puts you in the best environment to find fish (that elusive “bite window”).

$100/hr | 1-2 anglers

Whether you are brand new to two-handed overhead casting or seasoned saltwater angler, we offer casting instruction to get you into the game or improve your game.

Do you want to dial in that cast and start launching 100 foot bombs? Maybe you’re struggling with the Bay’s seemingly ever-present winds. Or, maybe you want to be more efficient with your cast so your fly is spending more time fishing and less time flying. Regardless of your skillset, we want to make you better!

We’ll meet at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club or the Oakland Casting Ponds depending on preference.

We offer clinics and group outings if you have a larger group that wants to learn how to fish our Bay Area waters. Clinics will focus on the basics an angler needs to fish the surf zone confidently and independently. We will cover beach safety, basic two-handed casting technique, species-specific tactics, reading water and surf conditions, and much more.
